Allied Fleet’s busy admin department is responsible for lots of different tasks, from ordering stock and preparing build schedules to booking customer deliveries and registering vehicles.
We caught up with Stacey, our stock administrator, to get some behind the scenes insight as to what’s involved in her job.
“A big part of my job is communicating and building relationships with people in Allied which I also really enjoy.”
Hi Stacey! How long have you been working with Allied Fleet and what’s your job title?
I’ve been with the company for almost ten years working as a stock administrator, which is a very busy and varied role.
So, what does a normal day look like in the admin office?
The office is very fast-paced and can be quite a stressful environment but I like being kept busy. It’s my job to look after our stock levels of unconverted vehicles. I order our base vehicles from the main dealers and keep track of it while it’s at our busy manufacturing site. I liaise with many different departments in the company, from sales and marketing to production and engineering, as well as external suppliers. I’m always on the phone to our sales managers, updating them with lead times for Flexilite™ minibuses and Crewser™ welfare vans. In the decade I’ve worked here, I’ve ordered over 15,000 vehicles in total.
What are the biggest challenges you face in the job?
We’re always very busy and it can sometimes be a challenge to keep on top of everything. We have a great team here though, who all pull together to get the job done and we’re currently recruiting for another stock administrator.
And finally, what do you enjoy most in your role working for Allied?
I love the fast-paced environment and always having something to do. A big part of my job is communicating and building relationships with people in Allied which I also really enjoy. The company is also supporting me through a college course in business, admin and IT, which I’m really excited to start in the autumn.
